Matariki Breakfast

Waipara School community members and families were invited to a dawn breakfast to celebrate the rising of the Matariki star constellation on the north eastern horizon. Forty five brave souls braved the early morning and frosty start to the day on Thursday 23 June. The menu consisted of hearty porridge to start the feast, followed by chops, sausages, eggs, bacon and toast. Tea and coffee finished the meal. During the day, the children worked on Digital Technology, dance, music and visual arts activities, which culminated in kite making and flying for the last part of afternoon. A wonderful day, enjoyed by all. The breakfast was funded by the Kate Valley Landfill Community Trust. Thank you for your support of our wonderful school.
