Last week, our whole school ventured on the Amberley Community bus to Spencer Park Beach in Christchurch to spend the day in the sun and surf! The children learned about keeping safe at the beach and saw some of the equipment used by surf lifesavers. This photo shows the children lined up to race to grab a stick in the sand, to build fitness for the surf lifesaving role. In the afternoon, we hit the sea, diving, splashing and body surfing. A huge thanks to the parents, who came with us and spent their time being marshals in the water so the children could enjoy themselves. A great day out!
