The 2017 Waipara School prize giving on Tuesday 19 December, saw the growing assortment of cups and trophies awarded to deserving children, and included in the line up of awards this year was the presentation of our Waipara School Scholarship. This is only the second time it has been awarded in its four year history - the first time in 2015 to Cecille and this year to Campbell. The idea for the scholarship was mooted by a long serving Waipara community member who wished to start a voluntary donation to our school for the purpose of recognising superior academic excellence. The scholarship is to be awarded to a Year 8 child, who demonstrates academic excellence and is someone who is representative of our Waipara Learner Qualities and Values. It is worth $500 and is to be used for meeting secondary school related costs. We congratulate Campbell on receiving this most prestigious award and are very proud of him, as are his family. Well done, Campbell!
